AW942: E. Barthelemie Angelic Minstrels Oil on Canvas French Art Deco Early 20th Century

E. Barthelemie (1865 -1966) Angelic Minstrels Oil on Canvas French Art Deco Early 20th Century. Signed lower left "E. Barthelemie". Inscription verso: "44 Bd d'areole Toulouse E. Barthelemie".

This painting depicts three figures, possibly angels singing and playing musical instruments. The central figure is singing and holding a cello. The figure to the left in brown is playing an accordion. The minstrel on the right is playing what looks to be a bassoon. The figures are set against a background of muted tones with a scroll with musical notes directing the song in the foreground. 

Dimensions: Sight 20 3/8" x 31 3/4"; Frame 25" x 36 3/4"

Comments: In researching E. Barthelemie on the internet I was able to find another example of his work. It is also a very interesting painting making us more intrigued with this artist. Here is a link to that other painting currently held y Gallery Drylewicz in Paris:
