Circa 1810 - 1830 Federal Directory / American Empire highly carved mahogany sofa with scrolled carved headrest, curvelinear arms and out swept hairy paw feet upholstered in a vintage old striated velvet fabric. Referred to as the “Cornucopia Sofa" given the arms in the shape of that symbol of prosperity and abundance circa 1810 - 1830.
The mahogany frame and finish are in very good condition. The gold velvet upholstery fabric shows evident signs of use and areas where stains have been removed.
