Comments: Basch began his studies in 1904 at the drawing school in Budapest under Tivadar Zemplényi. From 1905-10 he attended the Académie Julian in Paris and was a pupil of Jean Paul Laurens and Henri Matisse. During a couple of the summer months he visited the artist’ colony Nagybánya.
During World War I he served as a war artist. From 1920-31 he lived in Paris and Italy and returned to Budapest in 1935 .
Basch’s works are on display at several museums, such as Bthe Budapest National Gallery and the Budapest Museum of Military History.
