TITLE: Portrait of Francis Dederick
COMMENTS: Theodore Wassmer (1910 - 2006) attended school at the American Art School in New York where he studied with artist Raphael Soyer and went on to the Art Students League where he attended classes of Jon Corbino, Yasua Kuniyoshi, Sigmund Menkes to name a few. For years Wassmer had a studio in Carnegie Hall where he painted portraits and created a technique which he calls Glapasto. Wassmer has had one man shows in New York, California, Utah, Nebraska, Florida and Texas. This painting dates to the 1940's. Francis Dederick was a fellow artist and friend to Wassmer.
