COMMENTS: Arthur Smith painted for the Federal WPA Program in the 1930s and 1940s and was also an Illustrator for "The Ring" boxing magazine. Smith died in 1972 and his paintings have recently been exhibited in his home town of New York City and throughout the United States. This highly detailed painting depicts a great representation of a 1930s/40s baseball event. His baseball paintings are rather scarce. The overall size is about 14" by 8". The painting is is oil on board and is signed and in excellent condition.
